We took our VW Polo to LION PARK, a private game drive about 25 minutes from our house that has a hell of a lot of lions and wild dogs, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, etc. First of all, we need to preface our description with NOTHING LIKE THIS WOULD EVER EXIST IN THE UNITED STATES! We got to hold and pet lion cubs with no supervision and / or explanation of what might go wrong. Then in the "adult lion" area of over 100 acres lions were literally roaming around and you could drive amongst them. Don't get out of the car! It was so much fun and we were laughing so hard (kind of out of fear!) when these gigantic lions were literally touching our rear-view mirrors.

We'll defintely need to do this when we come down in August. Maybe we'll find some cubs in the kruger you can stroke and pet as well.
